Thank you for your interest in membership to the Cedar Hill Museum of History. There has never been a more exciting time to become a member as we celebrate the opening of our permanent home inside the new Cedar Hill Library, Museum, and Signature Park in April 2024. When opened, we will be able to display original exhibits and interesting artifacts, provide convenient access to oral histories, and host events, plus deliver a variety of member benefits to enthrall history lovers of all ages.

As a private 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Cedar Hill Museum relies primarily on financial donations and membership dues to cover the costs of our programs. Your support through contributions such as memberships helps ensure that the Museum’s mission to collect, preserve and share the natural and cultural heritage of Cedar Hill will be sustained for future generations, and strengthen our sense of community. So, we invite you to join our membership family today and discover yourself through the collective past.

Ways to Give

Memorial and Tribute Gifts - Memorial Gifts are a thoughtful way to honor the memory of a loved one by making a gift to the Museum. A Tribute Gift is a way to honor a person or celebrate a special occasion like a birthday, anniversary or graduation. The Museum sends an acknowledgement card to the honoree or family of the honoree.

Planned Gifts - You may be considering a future gift to the Museum through your will or estate plan. Please contact the Museum if you are thinking of making a charitable planned gift.

Corporate Sponsorships - Special events or exhibits can be sponsored at varying funding levels.

Recurring Gifts - A recurring gift helps the museum have an expectation of consistent, predictable cash flow which enables us to make forecasts into funding and scheduled payments throughout the year. Additionally, it may help you, the donor, by spreading your contribution out over time rather than in one lump sum. While you might not be able to donate $300 all at once, you may be able to budget an extra $25 a month as a recurring gift.

Artifact or Archive Donations - Exhibits are greatly enhanced by actual artifacts. The Museum is actively seeking items to add to the collection. If you have or are aware of items that tell the story of Cedar Hill that may be available, please contact us.

Private Collection “Adoption Record” - For artifacts that are being enjoyed by the family, we would appreciate being allowed to document them and trace the item’s history. This “adoption record” will allow the community to enjoy Cedar Hill’s history through your family history. Inheritance cards will be provided that can be attached to the artifact. The Museum appreciates your cooperation in letting others know of our collection and efforts to share the story of Cedar Hill.

Monetary Contribution - One-time donations to the museum in any amount are appreciated and can support general operations or be designated for a specific event, exhibit, program, or fundraising campaign. 

Items for the Museum Collection, sponsorships and all levels of membership and gifts are appreciated.
