Early Settlement
Cedar Hill’s first settlers in the region arrived on horse-back and ox-drawn wagons, and quickly took up the essential professions a small town needs. This exhibit highlights the roles of farmers, ranchers, teachers, blacksmiths, and others who laid the town’s foundation. After viewing historical maps on the far left, guests will encounter life-size recreations of many of these early settlers. Small graphics on each character will provide content and feature an audio push button. By pressing a button on the figure, guests will hear a 20-30 second audio spoken by the character describing what life was like during the early years of Cedar Hill.
